Venetian Reflections: Water and Oar by Ann Hutchinson

Ann Hutchinson is a photographer based in Hull who often travels by train to Venice where she became interested in the centuries-old Venetian tradition of water and oar and its place in a sustainable future for Venice.

This photographic exhibition shows something of the working lives of the gondoliers of Venice and the craftspeople who support them. Additionally, it details some of the environmental challenges facing the Venetian lagoon and also the social movements that have arisen to help Venetians face these challenges.

The exhibition runs from Friday the 2nd of February to Tuesday the 2nd of April 2024 at the University of Hull.
Open daily 10am - 5pm, with late opening Tuesdays 7pm.
Free to attend and no booking needed.
