Redeye's Snapshots are a series of skill sharing workshops, offering quick introductions to new creative ideas and techniques.

Join us for a 30 minute demonstration from fine-art photographer Scott Hunter, providing insight into exploring this traditional printing technique from your own home without the need for a darkroom. In this introduction to Cyanotype printing, you will gain understanding into mixing chemistry, coating papers, selecting objects, and exposing the prints.

Influenced by Japanese Zen design, Scott Hunter's imagery adopts a subtle, minimalist aesthetic. His recent site-responsive works consider time, place, and landscape within the environmental humanities.

Research topics include multi-species entanglements, phenological shifts concerning climate change, and the ecological impacts of energy consumption and pollution. By combining traditional craft with contemporary art techniques, Scott's Coast Along project displaying Japanese scrolls made the shortlist at Kyotographie KG+ Award 2018, with his Yugen show opening the festival the following year in Myokenji Temple. Investigating more environmentally friendly methods for printing and developing, this is the first of many workshops exploring alternative processes.
